Bill has more
than 30 years of experience on Wall Street in a variety of senior
management roles in investment banking, securities sales and trading
and, early in his career, as an attorney in the corporate finance
arena. He has represented and advised CEOs and CFOs of major corporations
in the media, real estate, energy, communications, financial services,
utilities and retail industries.
Bill began
his career with the law firm of Dewey Ballantine where he
specialized in tax and corporate securities law. He migrated to
bond trading and, subsequently, to corporate finance, becoming a
Managing Director of Merrill Lynch. At Merrill, Bill
focused on equipment and real estate lease financing and served
on the Board of Directors of Merrill Lynch Leasing, investing
the firm's capital in debt and equity transactions. Bill joined
Paine Webber as a Managing Director, Investment Banking Division,
and became head of the Real Estate Finance Group responsible for
sale-leaseback transactions with Fortune 50 companies and the sale
of partnership interests to wealthy individuals. Bill also served
as a member of the firm's Capital Commitment Committee, responsible
for reviewing merchant banking proposals and other potential deals
requiring the use of the firm's capital. Additionally, Bill served
on the Equity Commitment Committee, providing oversight on the proposed
public offering of equity securities managed by Paine Webber.
He is highly experienced on the retail side of the securities industry,
having served as an Investment Area Director at Citibank.
Bill has held a variety of NASD licenses including Series
4 (Options Principal), Series 24 (Principal) and Series
65 (Investment Advisor).
A graduate
of Princeton University with a B.A. in English, Bill received
a J.D. degree from Yale Law School. He served in the Marine
Corps and, subsequently, as a reserve officer in the Navy.
Bill is a member of the New York State Bar Association and
the Economic Club of New York.
